Birds by the group Imagine dragons is a very atmospheric and atmospheric song. A simple and light piano can be heard in the distance.
Technically, the piece is easy to play and you will need to know some simple notions of rhythmic theory. In fact, you will need to know how to play whole notes and half notes at 120 bpm.
This is an ideal title if you're new to the piano. In addition, the sequence of chords is easy to chain with the right ones inversion. I also refer you to the course on chord inversions on the piano if this concept is not familiar to you.
For the verses and choruses you will find a series of 3 chords which are: A (A major), C#m (C# minor) and B (B major). Then, for the bridge, you will have to string together the following 4 chords: F#m (Fa# minor), C#m (C# minor), E (E major), and G#m (G# minor).

The original version partly repeats the beginner's version but it includes some variations. You will find more chord inversions bringing more sound richness. You will also have to play at different heights which will allow you to work on your movements on your keyboard. For example, the cheek bridge is played two octaves above the verses. Position yourself well in front of your keyboard before starting to play. In fact, you need to be comfortable playing at the bottom and top of your piano without having to move your seat. Take your time. It is very important to position yourself correctly depending on what you have to play.
In terms of rhythm, you will have to play whole notes and half notes but also quarter notes on the choruses and verses. You will also find some eighth note passing notes in the left hand. Don't hesitate to work on the rhythmic music theory course on eighth notes on the piano.
Finally, in terms of chords, you will have to chain A (A major), C#m (C# minor) and B (B major) for the verses, pre-choruses and chorus. For the bridge, you will need to chain F#m (Fa# minor), C#m (C# minor), E (E major), and G#m (G# minor).
