Quarter sigh / 3 sixteenth note fills

Quarter sigh / 3 sixteenth note fills : Exercise 1

First, I suggest you work on the rhythmic figure “Quarter sigh / 3 sixteenth note” on your snare drum. It's like this: you play 4 sixteenth notes but you don't play the first sixteenth note. In fact the first sixteenth note is replaced by a quarter sigh. I advise you to play this first sixteenth note on your right thigh in order to stay in the flow of the four sixteenth notes without hearing the first sixteenth note ringing. This way, you will obtain the sound rendering of the rhythmic figure Quarter sigh / 3 sixteenth note.

Quarter sigh / 3 sixteenth note fills : Exercise 2

In this second exercise, it will be a question of alternating a bar of pace and a bar of fills using Quarter sigh / 3 sixteenth note. Fills are played only on your snare drum.

Quarter sigh / 3 sixteenth note fills : Exercise 3

Finally, I suggest you use the previous exercises on your snare drum and toms to create new sounds.
