If you're a beginner on the drums and you're looking for a song that's easy to play and not too fast, you've come to the right place.
First, you will need to master your first binary rhythm on the drums and be able to play it at 71 bpm. As a beginner, your goal is above all to work on your regularity. Try to be consistent in terms of tempo over time.
Secondly, you will have to work on two variations of your first rhythm that you will find in the course “ binary rhythms » (Exercise 1 and 4).
Finally, the proposed fills are very simple but you will have to work on the single stroke technique and the “2 sixteenth / Eighth note” music theory lesson. Have fun on easy on me easy drums.

This version of "easy on me" takes almost every step from the previous version but some new features have been added.
Indeed, your snare drum playing now includes a series of ghost notes that you will have to integrate into your pattern. I advise you to work on your strong strokes and your weak strokes.
For strong blows, the wrist rises high, almost perpendicular to the ground.
As for weak blows, the wrist hardly rises.
The idea is to stay as close to the skin as possible and give a light blow with the pads of the fingers rather than the wrist. It's like you want to touch the skin.
I insist on the importance of working on these ghost notes, because if you play them too loud, the sound reproduction will not be pleasant and adequate to the energy of the piece.

The arrangement of this version is richer than the previous one because new things have been added to energize the piece.
This time it's the bass drum playing which is enriched a little with sixteenth notes which bring groove and fluidity.
However, be sure to work on the rhythmic placement of these bass drums. You can help yourself with the “16th notes bass drums” course in the “intermediate rhythms” section.
Do not neglect this work because if your bass drums are not in place the result will be messy.
To finish, a little setup work awaits you on the last breaks of the piece which includes sextuplets. If you are not comfortable with sextuplets, I advise you to work on ternary rhythmic lessons and binary and ternary mixing.

This version of “Easy on me” offers a complex drum arrangement that will require playing techniques, but also and above all, practice and experience.
Regarding technology, you will need many strings to your bow: Moeller for hi-hat playing, Accentuation, ghost notes, crescendo, decrescendo, syncopation, double stroke, ternary feeling, foot coordination, and hand-foot coordination.
As you can see this version is quite technically loaded but should nevertheless seem simple and fluid when you listen to it. It will take you time to digest these techniques and render them with the right dynamics.
For the bridge part I strongly advise you to isolate the work of your feet because the coordination work is quite consequential.
